OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) cartridges are printer consumables manufactured by the same company who manufactured the printer they are intended for use in. These ink and toner cartridges offer the best and most reliable print results, and this is reflected in their cost.

Compatible Ink Cartridges

Compatible ink cartridges are available for most printers which use ink tank cartridges, including such brands as Epson, Canon, Brother and Xerox. Compatible ink cartridges are a money saving alternative to the genuine OEM products. Compatible ink cartridges are manufactured by a third party company. Remanufactured Ink & Toner Cartridges

Remanufactured ink and toner cartridges, like compatible cartridges are remanufactured by a third party company. Remanufacturing basically involves recycling empty cartridges, cleaning and replacing consumable parts and then refilling the unit with ink or toner to its maximum capacity. Remanufactured inkjet cartridges are available for printers which use a print head cartridge including HP, Lexmark and a number of Canon printers. Although remanufactured cartridges can be more expensive than compatible cartridges they are still genuine money saving alternative to OEM products, not just because their purchase price is cheaper but because many are refilled to maximum capacity with more ink than the OEM equivalent.
